Paladin Attack Roll Spells – What Spell Should You Choose?

Paladins have very few attack roll spells that they can choose from in Dungeons & Dragons 5e. There are only two spells that Paladins can select, but it really is only one because you have to be either Oath of Glory or Oath of Conquest to have access to one of the spells.

I’d rather roll an attack than have my DM do it. However, one of the nice things about a saving throw is that you usually can get some damage past a good roll (depending on resistances).

Here is the list of Paladin spells in D&D that can be chosen from:

  • Guiding Bolt (1st level) only available to Oath of Glory

  • Spiritual Weapon (2nd level) only available to Oath of Conquest

Both are S Tier level spells and it may affect which Sacred Oath you choose, but probably won’t be the primary reason why you select either oath. Having an attack roll spell is more of a nice little bonus to either of the two oaths and not a main feature.

Unlike the Ranger’s Druidic Warrior fighting style, Blessed Warrior does not open up any attack roll cantrips for Paladins.

Now you know what attack roll spells you can choose when you are a Paladin. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments down below.
