Player’s Guide

Here is a handout to give to your players before you start your session zero.

Lurray

Map created by Dyson Logos, make sure to check out their website here.

I created the Town of Lurray to give the campaign a nice jumping-off point that provided the players plenty of opportunities to create whatever character they wanted.

Places of interest:

  1.  Witchlight Carnival always sets up here on the green outside of town

  2. Caravanners’ Green is where most of the caravans camp. Thrifty citizens can usually find a deal buying straight from the caravans themselves

  3. The Merchant House provides places for merchants to sleep. It is home to the tax collectors that make sure that Baron Halfrey gets his cut of the goods. There are several storerooms full of goods from all over the world.

  4. Baron Halfrey lives in this heavily fortified keep that also provides a good view of the comings and goings from the Merchant House and the port.

  5. Phanjol’s Barracks is where caravans can hire well-trained guards to protect their goods

  6. Wizards’ Hill has a single tower that sticks atop the grassy hill. It is the entrance to a greater catacomb of tunnels where wizards learn their trade

  7. Miscons Lighthouse marks the entrance to the port of Lurray

  8. The Temple houses the house of worship for Lurray’s diety

  9. River Row is made up of merchant offices and riverboat offices. Deals are made to move merchandise by ship, riverboat, or caravan from here.

  10. The Hovels are a group of buildings catering to the caravans as they return from their long journeys. Rillo’s Paddock is amongst these buildings and is known for having the finest beast of burden on the spice road. The Rillos are always willing to make a deal to add to their herd.

  11. Regents Rock where the Baron is crowned and is annually made to give evidence of how well he has ruled the past year each summer solstice.

  12. Fisherman’s Village is the home of the town’s fisherman that work the river north of the city

The old wall district includes the warehouses and taverns that cater to the caravans and sailors. Although there is no gate leading into the temple district, most visitors know to keep to their section of the town.
